Emergency Medical Centre carries out first air mission

After a series of training flights, a medical team of the Air Emergency Medical Centre carried out its first mission today. 

The signal to the centre was given at 7.30 a.m., the helicopter took off half an hour later and after stopping for refuelling landed at 9.42 a.m. at Shumen Hospital to transport a patient in a serious condition to Sofia. 

The patient was transported to the hospital heliport of St. Ekaterina University Hospital, after which he was taken by a resuscitation team and taken to the Military Medical Academy. 
One hundred medical professionals were trained and certified to provide emergency medical care by air last year.
