In connection with its nuclear fuel diversification program, Kozloduy NPP concluded a contract with Westinghouse Electric Sweden for the supply of fuel for Unit 5. The first shipment arrived in April and the cartridges are being loaded for use during the unit's scheduled annual overhaul. With the implementation of fresh nuclear fuel produced in the USA, the safe and secure operation of the plant is guaranteed, according to the Ministry of Energy.
