Serious traffic accident involving National Service for Protection car near Aksakovo

A National Service for Protection (NSP) car was involved in a serious traffic accident at 5.30 PM on 17 May near the town of Aksakovo. Kiril Petkov, co-chair of We Continue the Change party (PP) and former prime minister was travelling in the NSP car, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports. A 63-year man was killed. He was driving the other car which did not stop at a Stop sign and failed to yield the right-of-way to the NSP vehicle. The 58-year old wife of the man who was killed is in intensive care. The other people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries and have been released for home treatment. The district military prosecutor’s office in Sliven has initiated pre-trial proceedings. Expert reports are to be commissioned to determine the speed of the cars involved in the crash.
