Fashion from the mid-nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century on display at the National Archives

Under the title "Fashion Through the Looking Glass of a Century: From the Mid-19th Century to the Mid-20th Century', the Archives State Agency is presenting an exhibition of over 120 photographs and original artefacts showing the evolution of clothing and accessories during one of the most fascinating periods in modern Bulgarian history. 

The poets Dora Gabe and Elisaveta Bagryana in 1927.  Both were among the fashion icons of their generation.
Separate panels show women's, men's, children's, bridal and court fashions, accessories, uniforms, sportswear, beachwear, carnival costumes and hairstyles spanning almost a century.

The exhibition will be open from 16 May to 15 June 2024 in the exhibition hall of the Archives State Agency at 5 Moskovska Street in Sofia. It will also be open on the Night of Museums and Galleries - May 18, from 5 pm to midnight.
