Bulgaria values greatly the active contacts with the Bulgarian community in Kosovo, Head of State Rumen Radev said. He met with representatives of the Association for the Development and Integration of the Bulgarian Community in the Republic of Kosovo, Radev's press office informed.

The president underlined Sofia's determination to expand economic, educational and cultural exchanges with Kosovo, which would also benefit the Bulgarian community there. In 2023, 40 Bulgarians from Kosovo have graduated from higher education institutions in Bulgaria, the president said, adding that Bulgarians from Kosovo should be encouraged to pursue their studies at Bulgarian universities.

The representatives of Bulgarians in Kosovo put several questions to Rumen Radev, including the possibility of increasing Bulgarian investment in Kosovo, especially in areas inhabited by ethnic Bulgarians; promoting the learning of the Bulgarian language; and facilitating access to Bulgarian citizenship.
