Angel Demirev is a guitarist whose music intertwines ethnic motifs not only from Bulgaria, not just from the Balkans, but also from distant countries and cultures. According to him, it is a matter of communication with the instrument. Although his instrument - the guitar - is very popular and exists in almost all cultures in one form or another, Angel Demirev seeks his starting point in his childhood.
In his words, his father and brother taught him playing techniques that are strictly confined to our geographical areas, even further east, and are not very familiar to the Western world. He combined these skills with the education he received at the music school in Stara Zagora, where he studied classical guitar. There he was introduced to classical music from the Pre-classical times to the present day. Then, like any teenager, he started playing the electric guitar, which excited him with its innovative impulses.
His concerts are eagerly awaited by connoisseurs of high-quality contemporary original music. One of these concerts is scheduled for April 18 at Studio 1 of BNR-Plovdiv, where Angel Demirev will perform with his acoustic trio. Petar Milanov (acoustic guitar) and Hristo Minchev (double bass) will join him on the stage.
