After broad consultations with its members, the Green Movement party is leaving the coalition We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB), and will take part in the election for European Parliament and the early election for the Bulgarian National Assembly on 9 June separately. A decision is yet to be made whether it will enter the election independently or as part of another coalition. “The current format has proven to be insufficiently effective in upholding the democratic principles and reforms which are crucial for Bulgaria,” the Green Movement says. The compromises made have led to a drop in the confidence in PP/DB, there have been no positive changes connected with the environment and the sustainable energy transition, the Green Movement says.

The Green Movement has 3 MPs in the current, 49th parliament – Daniela Bozhinova, Vasil Todev and Vladislav Panev. At the beginning of the year, Vladislav Panev co-founded the non-partisan club Acceleration, after which he was not re-elected co-chairman of the Green Movement.
