The Bulgarian cabinet has proposed to President Rumen Radev to issue a decree terminating the powers of the Interior Ministry's Secretary General Zhivko Kotsev and dismissing him from office, the government press service said.

Former interior minister and now MP from PP Boyko Rashkov denied that he was aware that Marin and Stefan Dimitrov, who are being investigated for smuggling, were engaged in criminal activity. Rashkov explained that he first saw Marin Dimitrov three years ago when he filed a report against GERB leader Boyko Borissov. Asked whether he was the link between Dimitrov and the Interior Ministry's Secretary General and whether out of loyalty to him Zhivko Kotsev had kept in touch with them, Boyko Rashkov replied "that these statements made by Mr. Kotsev were the result of the pressure that was exerted on him by the acting Prosecutor General, by the chairman of the anti-mafia commission and other persons".

The Boets Association protested on Tuesday evening in front of the Council of Ministers demanding the resignation of caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov. The dissatisfied protesters also demanded fair elections.
