Dimitar Glavchev presents caretaker cabinet lineup

Caretaker prime minister designate Dimitar Glavchev presented the composition of the caretaker government to President Rumen Radev and representatives of the political forces represented in parliament, with the exception of the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

Here is the caretaker government lineup:

  • Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova
  • Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov
  • Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Koritarova
  • Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivaylo Ivanov
  • Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivaylo Tsenov
  • Minister of Justice Maria Pavlova
  • Minister of Education and Science Galin Tsokov
  • Minister of Health Galya Kondeva
  • Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov
  • Minister of Environment and Water Peter Dimitrov
  • Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev
  • Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeikov
  • Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov
  • Minister of Innovation and Growth Rosen Karadimov

After the cabinet lineup was presented, We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) stated they vehemently opposed the choice of Kalin Stoyanov for caretaker interior minister, and walked out of the consultations with the president.

Vazrazhdane and There Is Such a People (ITN), despite some reservations connected with the changes to the Constitution, expressed the hope that the caretaker cabinet will genuinely organize fair elections for parliament. Reshuffles in the caretaker cabinet can be made until Monday evening. On Tuesday morning, the president will issue a decree approving it, after which decrees will also be issued regarding the elections for National Assembly of Bulgaria and for European Parliament.
