The Ministry of Health and UNICEF Bulgaria have launched an information campaign highlighting the benefits of vaccines. "Get vaccinated and join the superhero team" is the message of the cartoon character "Plus Me", named after the name of the completely renewed specialized website of the Ministry - plusmen.bg.

"On April Fool's Day, but not as a joke, the Ministry of Health, with the support of UNICEF Bulgaria, launched an information campaign on the benefits of vaccines," the ministry said. The occasion is European Immunisation Week, traditionally held in the last seven days of April, and the aim is to raise awareness of why vaccines are important," the ministry said.

In 2023, Bulgaria achieved a 93 percent coverage rate for compulsory early childhood immunization.
