The Chair of the National Audit Office, Dimitar Glavchev, announced that as of April 1, he is going on unpaid leave, in order to work on forming a caretaker government. Glavchev is committed to offering President Rumen Radev a cabinet made up of experts and without political figures by Saturday.

The deputy governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Andrey Gyurov, who is a former politician from the leadership of "We Continue the Change" (PP), told BTA that he had not expressed readiness to take on the duties of caretaker prime minister.

The law on the BNB and the rules of the European Central Bank do not allow combining professional and political positions, Gyurov says and adds that as the head of the "Issuance" department, he is directly involved in the strategic task of Bulgaria for joining the Eurozone.

In this way, the banker refuted PP co-chairman Kirill Petkov's words, who told BNR that Gyurov was ready to accept the position of caretaker prime minister.
