Next year we can be part of the eurozone, as this can also be done by a caretaker cabinet, outgoing Minister of Finance Asen Vassilev, has told Nova TV.

Talks are still ongoing with Austria about joining Schengen by land. The talks will have to be continued by the caretaker cabinet, Vasilev added. The elections do not push us away from the goals because Bulgaria and Romania are moving in a package. "When the two countries move together, it helps. After the decision of the Netherlands to allow us to join, there is no way to split the package," the minister says. By the end of 2024, we expect the decision to be made, Vasilev pointed out. He pointed out that PP continues to have common goals and vision with "Democratic Bulgaria" and have decided to participate together once again in the elections for parliament and MEPs.
