Prime Minister in resignation: I see no reasons for constitutional crisis

"Assuming that there will be a constitutional crisis seems quite frivolous to me". This was what PP-DB candidate for Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said on his way out of the presidency, after returning the unfulfilled second mandate for forming a cabinet to President Rumen Radev. Denkov's words were about the president's criticism towards PP-DB that with the changes in the Constitution from the past year, they allowed the politicization of the caretaker government and that this would lead to serious consequences in the coming months.

Today, it became clear that the deputy ombudsman Elena Cherneva-Markova - one of the potential acting prime ministers, according to the constitutional changes, unexpectedly resigned. This, according to Radev, further narrows the already narrow circle of candidates from among whom he can choose to head the caretaker government, as Cherneva was the only one without direct or indirect ties to political parties.
