Outgoing Premier Nikolay Denkov softened his stance on whether he could be replaced by the GERB-SDS Premier-designate Mariya Gabriel. He said he was ready for any reasonable compromises leading to a stable government. Nikolay Denkov is taking part at the European Council meeting in Brussels.

"I still hope that the first mandate will be successful, if not - we will try with the second", Nikolay Denkov said. According to him, it would be a serious mistake if Parliament votes only Mariya Gabriel as prime minister rather than the entire government. ''There is no elected prime minister without an elected council of ministers", Denkov was adamant and added: "I hope that GERB will give up this adventure. The sensible solution is to sit at the negotiating table and start from the initial position”. On Thursday, the Co-chairman of We Continue the Change Kiril Petkov attempted to contact GERB leader Boyko Borisov, but "Borisov didn’t show up", said Nikolay Denkov.
