One of radio's greatest strengths is its ability to tell stories. As of March 18 the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) and UNICEF have joined forces to talk about the problems that Bulgarian children face and thus try helping to solve them. To this end, the leaders of the two organizations with high public trust signed a Memorandum of Understanding. ‎

"Children are what drives UNICEF's agenda and we need to make sure they are heard. Because children are not in a position to have their voices heard by the people who make policies and take decisions. That's why I thank you once again for the partnership and I believe that together we will make sure that the voice of children and young people is heard on the agenda of Bulgarian society," said Christina de Bruin, UNICEF Representative to the Republic of Bulgaria
Mrs. de Bruin expressed special gratitude to the journalists of the BNR and emphasized the fact that this is the radio with the highest public trust in Bulgaria as well as a wide audience:‎

"That is why it is very important for us to sign this Memorandum of Understanding, which will strengthen our partnership in some critical areas, such as the reduction of child poverty, social inclusion, but also early childhood development and protection from violence. "‎

The document is a continuation of the policy of the BNR to support socially important causes, BNR Director General Milen Mitev pointed out, adding:

"Until now, the BNR has supported and promoted UNICEF's efforts in protecting children's rights and their well-being. By signing this memorandum, we confirm our empathy with UNICEF's cause and express our desire and motivation to cooperate even more actively for improving the lives of Bulgarian children and their families, for providing an environment in which every child can develop and realize their potential", Milen Mitev stated.

Through its two national and nice regional programs, an internet portal and wide presence in social networks, the Bulgarian National Radio reaches an audience of millions in Bulgaria and beyond its borders, BNR DG said:

"The BNR provides an exceptional opportunity to promote campaigns and initiatives to direct public attention to important topics and problems, such as early childhood development, the prevention and elimination of violence against children, inclusive education and the reduction of child poverty. I believe that the high public trust that both organizations have will guarantee us a successful partnership in the name of a better future for all children in Bulgaria. "‎
