60% of Bulgarians strongly support Bulgaria's membership in the EU, according to a poll by Alpha Research before the European elections.

Bulgarians are most satisfied with their right to appeal to the Court of Human Rights (84%) and with the possibility of working in the EU (81%). Enlargement of the Schengen area is supported by 53%. Support through EU funds is viewed positively by 51% of respondents.

Bulgarians are sceptical about the "green transition", with only 34% supporting it. 45% are opposed to EU support for Ukraine. More than 80% are not satisfied with the reception of migrants. The extension of the European Commission's powers at the expense of national governments is a matter of concern for 77% of respondents.

The representative, self-funded survey was conducted by Alpha Research between 1-7 March.
