"I have always supported Bulgaria and Romania, it is time for them to become part of Schengen completely. Your country is very important for European security and should be supported and noticed," Schmit said, BNR correspondent in Brussels Angelina Piskova reported.

A PES congress is being held in Rome today, at which the election of Nicolas Schmit as the candidate of the European left for the President of the EC is to be confirmed.
