The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the interim head of the Russian Embassy for a meeting, the embassy announced on Facebook, reported BGNES.

"On February 23, the chargé d'affaires of the Russian Embassy in Bulgaria was invited for a meeting at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the Bulgarian side expressed expectations for clarification of the causes of Alexei Navalny's death and also made assessments of the political situation in Russia in the form of well-known Western clichés'', the embassy wrote.

The Russian side has emphasized that ''the situation around Alexei Navalny is an internal matter, and any attempts to exert pressure on the authorities of the country are nothing but an interference in its internal affairs", reported 24 Chasa daily.
