Events across the country commemorate the death of the Apostle of Freedom

In the capital city's St Sophia Church, at 5pm, an archbishop's memorial service will be held in memory of Deacon Ignatius, the Apostle of Bulgarian Freedom, Vasil Levski. (Levski took this name when he entered the St. Spas Monastery in Sopot - ed.). As part of the commemoration of the 151st anniversary of the death of the Apostle of Freedom, organised by Sofia Municipality, the Holy Metropolis of Sofia and the Vasil Levski All-National Committee, a memorial service will be held at the Vasil Levski monument at 6 pm. President Rumen Radev will deliver a speech and lay a wreath

The fourth national initiative to commemorate this solemn day will begin at 12.00. Pupils from all over the country and from Bulgarian schools abroad will simultaneously recite the poem "The Hanging of Vasil Levski" by Hristo Botev. Video and photos of the event will be published on the electronic platform of the national initiative. 

The anniversary of the hanging of Vasil Levski will be marked by many events throughout the country.
