Parents know little about the television programmes or video games their children are watching. This was reported by Galina Milkova of the Sova Harris agency at the presentation of a study on children's consumption of media content to the Council for Electronic Media (CEM). BTA reported.

A total of 2,840 people were interviewed as part of the study. Of these, 1,305 were children aged three to 18, 1,305 were parents of children of this age and 230 were parents of children aged zero to two.

According to the survey, 72.1% of children use a smartphone, 42% use a computer and 35% use a tablet. More than 90 per cent of children mostly watch videos on their mobile devices and a total of 97 per cent use their mobile devices for social networking and platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc. The survey also shows that 96% of children aged zero to 18 watch TV, with 67% watching every day.

In the words of Sonya Momchilova, the chairperson of the CEM, traditional media know how to defend themselves "cleverly, innovatively and resourcefully" when it comes to "screen autism, extreme dependence on modern electronic devices, hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder".
