Citizens are to gather today in front of the Constitutional Court in defense of the Bulgarian lev. The protest is organized by Vazrazhdane party. In April last year, Vazrazhdane submitted 604,000 signatures to the National Assembly to preserve the Bulgarian lev until 2043. Later today, the Constitutional Court is expected to hold a sitting to decide on the appeal against the rejected referendum. "We expect the desire of 604,000 Bulgarians to convene a referendum to preserve the Bulgarian lev to be disregarded", said the leader of Vazrazhdane Kostadin Kostadinov. "They think that can stop us that way. On the contrary, the fight is just beginning because, together with our partners from other European countries in the family of Identity and Democracy, we are preparing a petition that will be submitted to the European Parliament", said Kostadin Kostadinov.
