The European Commission presented data concerning three infringement procedures against Bulgaria, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

The Commission is referring Bulgaria to the EU Court of Justice for failure to finalize the revision of its river basin management plans. Ireland, Spain, Malta, Portugal and Slovakia face the same procedure. The second procedure concerns the security of energy supplies and the obligation to give notification regarding certain gas supplies data. The third procedure concerns procedural rights. The Commission urges Bulgaria and Portugal to fully implement the EU rules of procedural safeguards for children in criminal proceedings – the requirements of fair trial and the rights of suspects and defendants.
