The name of the band Two Hours Away comes from the two-hour difference between Sofia and London - the cities where friends Alexander Danev and Konstantin Hristov studied years ago. Their desire to create music together grew into forming a band and recording their own songs in Bulgarian. Their music is defined stylistically as pop-rock with elements of blues and country. During the Covid pandemic, they presented their debut single “Niamam sili” (No Strength), which reached high positions in the BNR TOP 20 chart. "A Matter of Time" followed, and now it's the turn of "The Obvious Me and You".
The song placed them among the six winners of a competition with a jury that includes Vladi Ampov -Grafa, Mihaela Fileva and Wosh MC. This gave the band the opportunity to record the vocals of the song together with Veselin Tsanov, while Dimitar Karnev from D2 contributed to the drums and bass.
Asked whether the songs marks a new period in the band’s development, Alexander Danev, the front man of Two Hours Away, says:
"We hope so. The message itself is positive - that there are no wrong moves. This is the way we play, and present ourselves. This piece is part of our program aimed at taking our listeners, the people who come to our concerts, through a complete experience, which is what a concert should be. One should be immersed in it, feeling happiness, energy, a little bit of sadness... And we the ones who control this emotional carousel."
