Mountain rescue is becoming part of the system for emergency medical assistance by air, Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov said during the presentation of Bulgaria’s first еmergency medical helicopter, acquired with European funding. It is expected that by the end of the month, it will be able to participate in rescue missions.
Minister Gvozdeykov also said that the next two emergency medical helicopters that will arrive in Bulgaria will be equipped with a winch. According to the schedule, the second emergency medical helicopter will arrive in the middle of the year, and the third - at the end of 2024.
''Establishing emergency medical assistance by air will improve people's lives and create opportunities for investment and high-quality tourism," said Georgi Gvozdeykov.
