Bulgaria's Border Police have conducted an operation on the territory of Sofia and Pernik on the tracks of a migrant trafficking channel from the Turkish to the Romanian border. The criminal activity of the group began after the strengthening of border control on the Bulgarian-Serbian border, the Ministry of the Interior reports.

The Bulgarian border police started working on the case after several attempts to transfer illegal migrants across the border with Romania were detected in the Silistra region. Part of the detainees recruited migrants mainly in the capital, who entered Bulgaria in previous periods and were registered with the State Agency for Refugees.

Six people have been detained. Vehicles used to transport the migrants have also been seized.
