Weather forecast for January 20

Snowfall expected all across the country

Cold air will sweep across the country during the night. There will be rainfall, which will quickly turn into snowfall in the northern and western parts of Bulgaria and snow cover will begin to form.

On Saturday, the wind will shift from the northeast and cold air will continue to move in. It will be cloudy with snowfalls across the country. The snow cover will be between 5 and 10 cm, while in some mountainous regions, the snow cover will reach 25-30 cm. In the Danube Plain, Dobrudzha and the mountain passes, there will be blizzards and strong wind. In the morning the temperatures will be between 0° and 5°C, as during the day they will decrease and by 2 pm they will be between minus 3° and 2°C.

Over the mountains it will be cloudy with snow showers. There will be blizzards and snow drifts. Temperatures will decrease and the maximum at a height of 1200 m will be around minus 2°C; at 2000 m - around minus 7°C.

Over the Black Sea coast it will be cloudy with precipitation and by noon the rain will turn into snow. There will be strong northeasterly wind. The highest temperatures will be between 0° and 5°C, and sea water temperature is 7°-9°C.
