The 50th Balkan Athlete of the Year Ceremony to take place today

The fiftieth jubilee edition of BTA‘s poll Balkan Athlete of the Year will take place today at the Museum of Sport at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia.

Alexander Vezenkov who plays for Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association and rhythmic gymnast Boryana Kaleyn entered the top 10 of the poll. Boryana Kaleyn is the 2023 European all-around champion and team champion.

The national agencies of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkiye, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania participated in the poll. The national news agencies of Italy, Cyprus and Kosovo were also included in the voting as members of the Association of the Balkan News Agencies – Southeast Europe.
