The government has made no commitment other than to process asylum applications in a timely manner, as required by the Dublin Convention. This was Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov's response to a question from Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov in the National Assembly, refuting speculation that Bulgaria could be ""swamped" by migrants.
The Prime Minister stressed that no figures had been discussed and that these speculations were an attempt to scare people.
"By the way, the revision of the Dublin regulation will help Bulgaria not to run the risk of being "'swamped', as you say, by refugees, because according to the new regulation, the migrants must be distributed fairly among the member states," Denkov said.
