Parliamentary groups nominate constitutional judges

GERB-SDS party has nominated the chairperson of its parliamentary group, Desislava Atanasova, as a constitutional judge.

The leader of GERB, Boyko Borissov, pointed out that she has worked actively in nine parliaments and has exceptional legal experience. For her part, Desislava Atanasova stated that she would protect the Constitution even from the law and continued: "Yes, I lack magisterial experience, but I am convinced that I have parliamentary experience."

Last night PP-DB nominated judge Borislav Belazelkov - specialist in commercial law, lecturer and former member of the Supreme Court, for a member of the Constitutional Court.

Vazrazhdane party also took advantage of its right to nominate a candidate, and that is MP Tsveta Rangelova.

The chairman of the MRF parliamentary group, Delyan Peevski, stated that the party will support Atanasova and Belazelkov. Today is the deadline for proposals for two new constitutional judges from the parliamentary quota.
