The epiphany cross rescue ritual was also performed at the South Pole, BTA reported. The cross was brought to Antarctica by First Lieutenant Stanislav Stefanov, who is a member of the 32nd Bulgarian expedition to Antarctica and the crew of the Bulgarian scientific research ship "St. St. Cyril and Methodius".
The denouement of the Epiphany ritual in the Yambol village of General Inzovo was also curious. Minutes after coming out of the cool waters of the pool in the village after the ritual throwing of the Holy Cross, Viktor Ivanov from the village of Slamino proposed marriage to his beloved, and the mayor of the village of General Inzovo, Martin Enev, wished them to be together always, as in this special moment.

According to the Epiphany tradition, a cross is thrown into the icy waters of a river or other body of water and young men set out to catch it. According to belief, the man who manages to pull out the Christian symbol will be healthy and happy throughout the year.
