At the end of the service, Metropolitan Anthony read the Christmas Eve address of His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte, in which he said:

"In a world of more and more suffering and pain, of more and more and more violent military conflicts, sowing destruction and death, we are called with more more zeal to testify to the great mercy, unconditional love and peace that the Lord Jesus Christ brought us with His wonderful birth in the flesh, reconciling us to the heavens and showing us the right way to our heavenly Fatherland. The only way to truly thank God for everything what He has done for us and our salvation is to imitate Him in His divine love and in His mercy to all men".

Today from 09.30 a.m. in the patriarchal cathedral "St. Alexander Nevsky" the St. Basil liturgy for the Nativity of Christ is served.
