The best Bulgarian skier Albert Popov finished in the 11th position in the night slalom at the Italian winter center Madonna di Campiglio. The Bulgarian skier put in a strong first race in which he set the fourth time, 42 hundredths behind leader Clement Noel of France, but mistakes in the second race put him outside the top 10. Popov was nearly 5 seconds slower in his second race.

With his 11th position in Madonna di Campiglio, Popov takes tenth place with 50 points in the Small World Cup slalom standings. The leader is the Austrian Marco Schwartz with 180, followed by his compatriot Manuel Feller with 145.

The skiers will remain in Italy, finishing the calendar year with two starts in Bormio on December 28 and 29 in the downhill and super giant slalom disciplines.
