New book Sofia Urban Art presents the history of graffiti in Sofia

The history of graffiti and street art in Sofia from the 1990s to today can be found in the book "Sofia Urban Art". Its official launch will be on December 21 at the regional center for contemporary arts Toplocentrala in Sofia.

This was announced by the Sofia Graffiti Tour team, which has authored the publication. From there, they note that the book is inspired by the diversity of styles over the last three decades.

"From the first 'bombs' and 'galleries', group 'jams', festivals and exhibitions to the painting of entire walls, graffiti in Sofia has gone from protest art to a fully accepted part of the city's modern culture", explain the organizers.
