Hungary will lift its objection to Bulgaria joining the Schengen area after the Bulgarian parliament formally confirmed the abolition of an extra tax on Russian gas shipments, said Hungary‘s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó, quoted by Reuters.

He said that once the law was published on Friday in ''State Gazette'', Hungary would drop its objection and ask the European Commission to halt an infringement procedure that Budapest had initiated.
