A general appeal to the Constitutional Court against the changes to the Constitution will be brought by the opposition parties in the parliament. The leader of Vazrazhdane party, Kostadin Kostadinov, stated that they will not participate in the debates about the changes.

Toshko Yordanov from ITN party stated that the opposition could do no more than boycott and not participate in the vote.

The MPs from Vazrazhdane and ITN left the plenary hall.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party said they were staying to vote against the changes proposed by the majority.  "What Vazrazhadne and ITN are doing is curious. If they are boycotting this process, the question is why between the first and second readings they introduced dozens of proposals for change. If someone boycotts something, they don't do it like that," said BSP leader Kornelia Ninova.
