Conductor and composer Hristofor Radanov is celebrating his 80th birthday tonight with a concert at Studio No. 1 of the Bulgarian National Radio.
Together with the BNR’s Folk Music Orchestra, which he headed from 1991 until 2011, he will present the special guests to the event – vocal and instrumental orchestras and soloists for whom Radanov has composed music. The concert programme features horos from Gorna Oryahovitsa, well known from Radanov’s repertoire, as well as pieces written especially for the concert, part of his instrumental cycle of music from Northern Bulgaria.
The concert will open with a performance by the Folk Music Orchestra conducted by its current conductor Dimitar Hristov.
