GERB leader Boyko Borissov took a stand against the possible sale of farmland from the State Land Fund. He stated that no discussions have so far been conducted by We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) with GERB on the matter. Borissov was adamant that fertile lands must not be sold. Delyan Peevski from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms took the same stand. President Rumen Radev threatened to veto the national budget if there are plans for the sale of land from the State Land Fund. The Association of Agricultural Producers also took a firm stand against the possible sale of 20% of the state-owned agricultural land, in an interview with BNR-Varna.
Earlier, media publications appeared, according to which, there were plans to sell one-fifth of the Fund land within the frameworks of the budget for 2024.

Finance Minister Assen Vassilev denied there were any such revenues set down in the national budget. Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Korneliya Ninova on her part stated that the sale of state-owned land was not part of the budget for 2024, but of the budget for 2025.
