The state of emergency declared in Varna after the hurricane-force wind on Saturday night, which claimed one life and inflicted serious damage, remains in place.

School-goers on the territory of the municipality will be studying online. “The state of emergency in Varna will probably remain in place until the end of the day,” said Varna mayor Blagomir Kotsev. There will be no classes in Devnya either. A state of emergency or partial state of emergency is in place in almost all municipalities in the northern portion of Varna region. The Varna-Dobrich road remains closed for clearing. The water pumps are being restored, as is the electricity supply in the villages of Dobrich region. Traffic has resumed on the Dobrich-General Toshevo road.

The state of emergency remains in 6 towns and villages in Shumen region. The wind has brought down electric power lines. The power is out in dozens of villages, in some of them the water supply is out as well.
