There are no insurmountable differences regarding the budget for 2024, PM Denkov says

“There are no insurmountable differences regarding the budget for 2024, the controversial elements can be cleared up by way of dialogue,” Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov told reporters in parliament after the debates on the upcoming vote of no confidence in the cabinet.

In his words, the issue is that there are different approaches to the budget by the different political forces – whether, as has been the case so far, it should be frugal, with the surplus being handed out at the end of the year, or whether a realistic approach should be applied, as proposed by Finance Minister Assen Vassilev – with clear policies as to what is to be financed and what results are to be expected from the very beginning.
