Bulgaria's Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov said from the parliamentary rostrum that so far there are no indications of an impending wave of refugees due to the war in Gaza. Stoyanov took part in the debates on the motion of no confidence in the cabinet.

From the beginning of the year to November, there were 174 thousand attempts to illegally cross the Bulgarian-Turkish border. 1,400 citizens of third countries were detained upon entering the country, which is 32% less compared to the same period last year.

"The conducting of a joint specialized police operation continues on the Bulgarian-Turkish border and vulnerable sections of the Bulgarian-Greek border with the aim of preventing and intercepting attempts to illegally cross the border checkpoints," Kalin Stoyanov pointed out.

The Minister of the Interior commented that as a result of the active dialogue with Turkey, a decrease of more than 2 times in attempts to cross the border illegally has been reported.
