The mountain peaks Musala in Rila Mountain, Botev and Murgash in Stara Planina Mountain and Cherni vrah on Vitosha Mountain already have a snow cover, Bulgaria's National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology announced. In general, the conditions for tourism in the mountains are poor, according to the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross.

"It is winter at Vitosha Mountain, we are enjoying the beauty of the winter mountain, but the conditions are specific for the season," are the words of the Mountain Rescue Service-Sofia Squad addressing the tourists, warning them that the roads are very icy

Winter rescuers warn that we are entering a season in which neither a snowmobile nor a jeep can easily reach persons who have suffered an incident in the mountain. "Not to mention a helicopter because it's raining and foggy. In other words, beware!” mountain rescuers warn.

Rescuers also remind that tourists going to the mountain should have mountain insurance.
