"The goal we set for these elections is to dismantle the GERB model in the local government. We are on our way to realizing this goal. The most striking example is in Sofia," said BSP leader Kornelia Ninova at a briefing after the end of the election a day after it became clear that Vanya Grigorova, supported by the left, is going to a runoff for the mayoral seat in the capital. She reported that in places the party has improved its results compared to the last elections. "That is, the BSP returns to the local government with increased confidence," Ninova summed up.

Currently, PP is not discussing local coalitions with GERB. This was stated by Daniel Laurer from "We Continue the Change" in Varna, where he participated in a briefing with the PP candidate for mayor Blagomir Kotsev. The national bodies of the PP are yet to decide from where and whether they will seek support for the runoff, BNT reported.

According to ITN's candidate for mayor of the capital, Ivaylo Valchev, who received only 2.9% of the votes of Sofia residents, paper ballot voting had a negative impact on all parties. According to him, a statement from ITN leader Slavi Trifonov about the elections is expected tomorrow.
