One conviction, 17 accusations, 157 proceedings for election violations

In connection with the elections for municipal councilors and mayors held in Bulgaria today, October 29, from the beginning of the election campaign until 3 pm on October 29, 2023, 157 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated. 
17 persons have been charged as defendants, the prosecutor's office reports. 

The highest number of pretrial proceedings are in Sofia - 61, and Burgas - 44. 

A woman from the village of Nikolaevo, region Pleven, was convicted of buying votes.
