A meeting of the parliamentary groups to discuss GERB's proposal for stopping the derogation for Lukoil Neftofim Burgas will take place today, GERB leader Boyko Borisov announced at a pre-election meeting in Dobrich.

At a briefing at GERB's headquarters, Delyan Dobrev, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on energy, said that his party would submit the request to the National Assembly for the third time, as only Lukoil benefits from the current derogation.

The co-chairman of the parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Delyan Peevski stated that the MRF would support the proposal with the argument that the issue is of strategic importance for Bulgaria and Bulgarian citizens.

According to Finance Minister Asen Vassilev, there are no guarantees whether the refinery in Burgas will be able to secure reliable supplies if Bulgaria stops importing Russian crude oil at the end of the year, and not in October next year, as the parliament decided previously.
