Prime Minister academician Nikolay Denkov and the president of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Julian Revalski presented the new Bulgarian supercomputer Hemus in Sofia.

It is part of the digital information and high-performance computing complex at the Center of Excellence in Informatics in Sofia. The EUR 10 million project comprises a complex integrating data storage system, local application development centers, and digitization facilities, and, of course, the supercomputer itself. The integrated platform connects the entire computing ecosystem, encompassing network and computing resources, data storage resources, and a suite of services and tools designed to serve multidisciplinary scientific communities. The supercomputer will help hundreds of Bulgarian scientists be more competitive abroad. This is the second supercomputer in Bulgaria, after the Discoverer started operating in Sofia Tech Park in 2021.
