The government revoked decisions of previous cabinets related to the construction of a second nuclear power plant in Belene. The decisions concern the designation of the Belene nuclear power plant site as an object of national significance and the conduct of negotiations with potential investors and equipment manufacturers. The cabinet assigned Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy to take action to terminate the procedure announced by the National Electricity Company for the selection of strategic investors for the construction of Belene NPP and to notify the preferred candidates for the submission of binding offers, with whom a confidentiality contract has been signed.
