At the beginning of today’s cabinet sitting, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov commented that the decision to raise the minimum salary as of 1 January is one of the most important decisions in the work on the national budget for 2024.
The minimum monthly salary in Bulgaria is to be 933 Leva (EUR 477) which means complying with the requirement to reduce inequalities in Bulgaria, Nikolay Denkov said.
“Bulgaria is still the country with the lowest minimum salary in the EU. We gradually have to alter the fact that the economy is attracting investors most of all because of the low salaries. We should be attracting investors more and more because we are offering high-quality production, high added value and qualified staff,” the Bulgarian prime minister said.
