There is full agreement that an energy strategy for the country should be prepared in the next few months, Bulgaria’s Premier Nikolay Denkov said at a briefing after a meeting with representatives of employers' organisations. He discussed with them the main measures envisaged in the territorial just transition plans.
''There is a labour shortage and the task is to make those people who are worried about their future understand that there can be even better opportunities for them, better pay and better working environment", Premier Denkov pointed out. In his words, it is necessary to attract investors and create a transparent process. ‘’This will ensure the economic development of the country and the best possible conditions for workers," Nikolay Denkov added.
"It is important from the employers' point of view not to shut ourselves up only in the energy sector, but to look at the whole economy in the longer perspective, because there are other challenges as well", said Tsvetan Simeonov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He added that the legislation aimed at facilitating the import of workforce is being delayed.
According to the Bulgarian Prime Minister, the main criticism from the employers' organisations is that the government's communication with employers and potential investors could be better.
