The Danube Bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu will be closed to traffic for 3 hours at night, from 22:00 to 01:00, from 3 to 5 October 2023. The bridge's joints need urgent repairs, the National Road Infrastructure Agency said.

The emergency works will be carried out at night, when there is less congestion at the border crossing, in order not to impede traffic, the road agency said. The material to be used for the repair work will be such that no vibrations should occur on the bridge structure until it hardens. The emergency work, which is being undertaken now, is intended to ensure the normal operating condition of the facility until the planned overhaul begins.
