"Independence Day is a valuable lesson that unity and strong will are the way to achieve national ideals and to defend the Bulgarian interest," President Rumen Radev wrote on his Facebook page on the occasion of Bulgaria's Independence Day. These virtues, he stressed, are even more important today when we are struggling with multiple crises. Social problems are being glossed over, attempts are being made to falsify our history, and statehood is giving way to foreign interests and dependencies.

"Equality, the self-confidence of a free and dignified people - all this is our own doing. We are a nation for which independence, prosperity and development are supreme values," the Head of State concluded his address.
